Biomolecules, Cells, and Biomimetic Systems (IN M1, or an equivalent introduction to biology)
    Compétences attestées (transversales, spécifiques) :

*know the potential, advantages and principles of microfabrication of diagnostic and culture-on-chip devices

*know the main biomaterials used in tissue engineering (scaffolds, gels, implants)

* know the concepts of image analysis applied to the detection of biological objects from optical videomicroscopy images.
    Programme de l'UE / Thématiques abordées :
Cell and Tissue Engineering are rapidly growing fields using cells, biomaterials, biochemical factors and physical or mechanical stimulations to induce the growth of functional tissues for medical applications in developmental biology, cancer, regenerative medicine, medical repair and replacement, personal medicine. In this course, you will learn about how cell adhesion and migration are controlled by the cellular microenvironment. You will be trained in biomaterial, scaffold and implants as well as in microsystems and lab-on-a-chip and assessments of cellular and tissue responses. You will work on case studies on micro- and nanotechnologies used for probing, stimulating or analyzing single cell and tissues, on mecanobiology and biomaterial studies and on the image analysis of cell assemblies
