    Programme - Contenu de l'UE :

The following topics will be addressed,

  • Biology of cell death: necrosis, necroptosis, apoptosis and autophagy and their relationship to aging
  • Cellular senescence: molecular mechanisms of control and escaping
  • Cellular aging and damage to molecules: reactive oxygen species, proteins, nucleic acids
  • Cellular aging and metabolism: theories of caloric restriction, metabolic signalling pathways
  • Physiopathology of aging: organisms longevity, aging diseases and neurodegenerative diseases

Méthodologiques :

The goal of this UE is to give an overview on cell death and cellular aging fields but also recent advances in these fields. During this teaching program, the emphasis will be put on how both fields are critical to understand the aging process.
Lectures on different topics of cell death and cellular aging will be given in english by experts of the French scientific community; they will present overviews and lab recent advances of these rapidly growing fields.



Techniques :

Student will participate to round tables with scientific experts and have to participate to the group discussion.

With scientifc experts' lectures as starting point, students will choose one theme and go deeper into it to propose a short research program including questions to be answered, experimental strategies to be performed and expected results.
