The Lyon Polymer Materials Science (LPMS) course is a high-level master's degree focusing on polymer-based materials. It has the SFRI (Structuring Training through Research in Initiatives of Excellence) label. The objective of this one year Master’s program (M2 level) is to provide the skillls going from the synthesis of specific macromolecular architectures to the formulation of materials with smart and innovative properties, including the lowest environmental impact all along the polymer material conception and life span.
The program is taught in English and it is therefore intended for international or French students with a good knowledge of English (minimum level B1 or TOEFL 550 or equivalent).
The program consists of :
- a common core (6 courses corresponding to 21 ects),
-12 ects chosen from the courses of 3 specialties (Polymer chemistry, Polymers for health and cosmetology and Functional materials and processing, respectively)
- A research internship of 5 to 6 months in an internationally renowned academic or industrial research laboratory in Lyon, in France or abroad.
The program is a reasearch-oriented program. The high level of training and the cutting edge of current issues will allow graduate students to go on to complete a PhD in Lyon, in France or abroad or to directly apply for an industrial position.
