    Pré-requis :
As the 'Fundamental basis of science' lecture aims to provide a basic knowledge in physics to ensure that students will be able to follow the other courses of the master, this UE does not require any specific background except interest for science. The UE will start with a general test of knowledge in physics for all M1 students. Depending on the results, the teachers will decide for which students the lecture will be compulsory (it is highly recommended for students who do not have a bachelor in physics).
    Compétences attestées (transversales, spécifiques) :
·         Acquire basic mathematics tools to understand the equations necessary to formalize physical observations
·         Use appropriate units and control the homogeneity of a physical equation
·         Link macroscopic to microscopic properties of matter
·         Describe the different light/matter interactions, in particular with X-Rays.
Be able to understand the different notations used to describe a crystal structure
