Basic knowledge of physics: crystallography, electrical and optical properties of matter, statistical physics, vibrations and wave-propagation phenomena.
The aim is to give a teaching on “quantum engineering” applied to nanotechnologies. The lecture will be organized as follows:
1) Introduction to the formalism of quantum mechanics for engineer.
2) Application to the optoelectronic devices that are now referred to as belonging to the “first quantum revolution”.
3) A focus on the quantum information which leads to the “second quantum revolution”: quantum cryptography, quantum computing.
Evaluation: Intermediate written exam and final written exam
