As a consequence of the advancement of microfluidics science and components, new tools, devices and technologies have emerged in the fields of analytical chemistry, biolgy and biochemistry. In this courses, we will introduce both the physical phenomena that govern the dynamics of fluids at the micrometer and nanometer scale and the technologies/applications derived from these principles. We will discuss methods, tools and concepts to create microfluidic devices but also fluid flow and characteristics in microenvironment, microfluidic components. Finally, such concepts will be presented in relation with applications in fields such as analytical bio(chemistry) and biology.
Every year, a n industrial representative of the field will be invited for a lecture.
