The goal of this module is to provide students with interdisciplinary skills that will be useful throughout the curriculum of the Master. The main types of skills will be covered:
- communication (spoken, written, language skills and technical aspects)
- data analysis and treatment
- management
- team work
- set up a research process
- carry out and present a bibliographic researchdiscover a research environment and process
The students will acquire a first research experience in a research laboratory at the University de Lyon, all of which are internationally renowned.
The students will work in team, most often integrated into a research group and sometimes into an existing project. The students have the opportunity to work with the various actors of research, to discover the multiple facets of the research profession and the context of academic research in France. They may also be offered to participate in the life of the research laboratory which welcomes them, for example by attending seminars or other events.

Scientific communication: writing scientific articles and technical reports, giving oral presentations
Reproducible data analysis and treatment: tools and techniques, data processing, modeling
Literature research and bibliographic resources
Project management
During the tutorials, students will work on projects related to the research activities of the associated laboratories with particular attention on data treatment.
