    Pré-requis :
First degree (Licence, Bachelor) in a scientific area. In particular, knowledge in chemical kinetics and thermodynamic equilibrium of gas-liquid.
    Compétences attestées (transversales, spécifiques) :
The learning outcomes of the course are:
  • Estabishment of mass and energy balances in open heterogeous system (liquid-gas-solid).
  • Knowledge of mass and energy transfer .
  • Calculation of temperature and concentration dynamics by resolution of the balance equations.
  • Solve Ordinary differential equations (ODE).
    Programme de l'UE / Thématiques abordées :
The course gives knowledge on open heteregeneous systems (gas-liquid-solid) where take place :
1) chemical reactions
2) mass and energy transfers.
Their dynamics (temperature and concentrations) are determined and calculated by establishement of mass and energy balances. Several exemples of heterogeneous sytems are given in different field as catalytic reactor, greenhouse climate,  tunnel pollution, thermal model of the emperor penguin...
