Identify a biological question that is relevant for Systems Biology approaches
Identify the relevant modeling formalism
Identify the relevant dataset
Being able of explaining to a mathematician or computer scientist why and how the biological question is amenable to modelling
The aim of the UE is to provide the basics needed to adopt a systems biology approach, and a coarse view of the field.
This UE is intended to be accessible to any biology student, with a strong desire to explore more formal approaches (mainly mathematics and computer science)
This is by essence an interdisciplinary approach. Courses will be given by computer scientists, mathematicians, physicists, bio-informaticians and biologists.
Both methodological aspects as well as examples of application of Systems Biology approaches to biological questions will be given.
